Simple Blog Site

This is a Simple Blog Site (CMS) that was developed using PHP and SQLite Database. This simple mini-project is a sort of Content Management System (CMS). I developed this web application to share this and help other newbies to understand how to build a blog site using PHP Language and SQLite.

About the System

This simple web application has simple features of a blog site which are users' can create, list, view, and delete an article. This was developed using PHP, SQLite Database, HTML, and CSS. All articles that have been created are listed on the default/index page of the application and below the list are the links for adding and deleting an article. To view the article content, you can just simply click the Article Title and the application will be redirected to another page that shows all the contents of the selected article.

How to Run


  • Download and Install any local web server such as XAMPP/WAMP to run a PHP Script.


  1. Open your XAMPP/WAMP's Control Panel and start the Apache.
    (NOTE: You must uncomment the SQLite3 Extention in your php.ini. To do this, open your php.ini file in a text editor and find ";extension=sqlite3" and remove the semicolon. Restart your Apache after saving the changes.)
  2. Extract the downloaded source code zip file.
  3. If you are using XAMPP, copy the extracted source code folder and paste it into the XAMPP's "htdocs" directory. And If you are using WAMP, paste it into the "www" directory.
  4. Browse the Simple Blog Site in a browser. i.e. http://localhost/sqlite_blog.


That's it! You can now test and explore the functionalities of this Simple Blog Site in PHP and SQLite. This project is for educational purposes only. The source code is free to download.
