Point of Sale and Inventory System - VB 6 Version

Free Point of Sale (POS) and Inventory System.

A must have features:

  1. Barcode support
  2. Point of Sales
  3. Place an order (sales order or purchase order)
  4. Receive or deliver an order by batch
  5. Support for returning of orders
  6. Product inventory according to unit of measures
  7. Run the source code to appreciate the program

Note: Automatic numbering of barcode (field) is used to simulate barcoding system. Just used the correct barcode of the product if you want to use the barcoding system.

Download POS and Inventory System v1.0 Installer here.

Note: You need crystal reports 8.5 to run the source code. If you don't have crystal reports you can still open the source code without problem with the ocx by installing the Installer above.

As you may already know, VB 6 is not already supported by Windows 10. So if you have this version, it's better to run a virtual machine like VMWare and install Windows XP to avoid any problem.

Note: Due to the size or complexity of this submission, the author has submitted it as a .zip file to shorten your download time. After downloading it, you will need a program like Winzip to decompress it.

Virus note: All files are scanned once-a-day by SourceCodester.com for viruses, but new viruses come out every day, so no prevention program can catch 100% of them.

FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, PLEASE:

1. Re-scan downloaded files using your personal virus checker before using it.
2. NEVER, EVER run compiled files (.exe's, .ocx's, .dll's etc.)--only run source code.

I am a newbie but willing and hoping to learn.

I downloaded the zip file. when I click on the "inventory system" it prompts me to browse to a file and I am not sure to which file to browse.

Basicially i want to be able to:

1)open the application and test current functionality

2) open source-code (so I can translate to another language, further develop, etc) and modify

3) recompile the source code

 

Can somebody walk me through these steps? I would very much appreciate it.  You can also email me at [email protected]

sory for being off-topic. i got an error because my msdn. can you tell me where to find msdn for VB6 ? and i'm still newbie,so i dont even know what is msdn. i already try to look in msdn.microsoft.com, but i cant find where i'm suppose to download. can you tell me what i'm suppose to do ? thank you

MSDN stands for Microsoft Developer Network. It is a help system for Microsoft product like Visual Basic. If you wanna buy this book, then I suggest you visit ebay.com.

i already installed msdn for visual studio 2008. but it still error. its really2 confusing... what kind of msdn should i install then ? i'm using visual basic 6.0. please help me....

Yes. It can be run only using vb 6.0. You can run it without msdn. Visual basic is a proprietary software so you need to buy it if you don't have one.

i can't run the program. there is an error, its keep saying error during load.. if it isn't because of msdn then there something wrong with my visual basic then ? or did i put it in wrong directory folder ?

Be sure to read all the necessary requirements before you run the source code. You many download also the installer so it will register the ocx automatically.

nadownload ko ung POS software and ung InventorySystem.VBP binuksan ko then wla nmn, pano pag sasama samahin lahat ng forms and ung mga modules, and kugn pano mag run ng wlng error loading, please help bro, im a newbie,... please response, i will greatly appreciate it, many thanks...

I suggest you download the installer then download the source code again. The installer has all the .ocx files that you need to run this program.

Use the built-in installer in VB 6.0 or you may use a third party product like installshield.

hi boss , really nice code , but am confused at the sale price point . i did the following but the sale price and the cost is not appear on the stock record first i created a new entry in the stocks form and i fill every thing with the sale price. then i check the stock records its not appear there. but when i make cash sale the price appear as i put it in the sales price not as i put it in the begin inventory so plz help me

Hi, Thanks for reminding me thru email. I check the program. Added one stocks and test the cash sales and seems the program is working well since I can see the sales price at the stock card. Don't hesitate to follow up this problem.

thanks for the replay , in the stock cards yes it apears , but what i mean that in the stock records page in the stock section , i can found all the info i put but the sale price and the cost is empty , also what the begin inventory do exactly ??

Sorry but I'm a little confused of what you are trying to say. The begin inventory of course will be added to the stock card report.

i have a question sir. . .do you have a "simple code" for transferring the content of a multi-columned listview to a textbox? ? ? because the code here is complicated that i could hardly understand . .example is when i DblClick the stock item from the stock form , the content will be copied to the textboxes of form StockAE. . . thank you very much

Search for the multi-column combobox here and open it. Add a textbox name textbox1. Double click the nsdProductName and add the following code: Textbox1.text = nsdProductName.BoundText This will add the value of a multi-column combobox in to your textbox control. If you want to get the value from another column, then use the getSelValueAt properties. Ex: Textbox1.text = nsdProductName.getSelValueAt(2)

bro sir: hello im newbie also in using VB6, i just wondering after i have dowloaded the files 1. Please watch the video tutorial on how to link the database from Microsoft Access. If I have time I will create another tutorial for my POS system.

sir: how can i change the abc marketing header appearing on reports.. (after transaction... sales - to be printed) do i need it to edit the field using crystal reports,, from where exactly sir can i edit the name from the fields thanks ..last q.. is there a chance that the sales order be deducted autmatically from clients or vendors from their record ( for ex: i have clients abc send a package for me .. where i can records it detail and payment..) from then how can i enter the transaction payment for his/her last delivery).. thnx. kloyd

You need to open the reports in crystal reports 8.5. You'll see the ABC Marketing label and change it on your own company name. As for the payment please check the receive payment form.

Hi, I am wondering if you have this code in VB 2008, I can not get ahold of the VB6 version, I know a lot of things changed from 6 to 2008, but I think it will be really helpful if you had a more recent version of vb for this code. Are there any plans to upgrade it? At least the inventory part for now? Thanks
