The competition is much lower compare to promoting your expertise in the internet as a freelancer. But if you have an extra time to divulge your energy in the internet then finding freelance provider can really boost your income.

How does it work?

The buyer will post a bid on his/her project and a coder place a bid. The buyer then decides who will be the winning bidder. This is not according to the price that the bidder is placing. It depends on the buyer to choose a bidder he/she likes. Criteria to win a bid sometimes need a good programming background in the part of a coder. Do not expect that if you have a lower price then you will win the bid. This is not true. You have to convince the buyer that you are the right person to handle the job.

The capital sometimes is patient. Do not think that after you place a bid you will be chosen. Make as many bids as you wish provided that you know what the project is requiring. Failure to do so will eliminate you from preliminary bid.

  1. My best advice is to list your programming background as many as possible. State in your resume about the accomplishment that you have. But do not lie with yourself. Buyer are becoming smart that they will know who is telling the truth. Be true to yourself.
  2. Place a lower bid. Though you cannot guarantee to win a bid if you will place a lower price but this could be a starting point to be notice by a buyer

The reward

After you established yourself and earn credibility then this is the time to make a revenge. You may start bidding for a higher price. The buyer will not mind about the price if you have a great review from your past project.

Not only that you earn money on the internet but as well as you improve your programming skills. The reward for the hard work for sharing your expertise cannot be measured sometimes by the accomplishment that you have made.

It's a really good article! Thank you! As for me despite I like Freelancer, I think that the best freelance job board is XPlace . It has higher hourly rates than the majority of other online marketplaces, doesn't charge a commission from freelancers, and there are a lot of job opportunities (entry-level and more complex ones). An excellent website to make a freelance career!
