ExamDiff – Free Visual Tools for Comparing Two Files
In my previous blog I discuss the benefits of using TortoiseSVN - Source Control Software to backup your source code.
If you are not using TortoiseSVN, I would like to recommend ExamDiff as an alternative in comparing two different version of your files or source code. Take note that this kind of tools is part of TortoiseSVN and you do not need to use ExamDiff for differentiating two files.
ExamDiff is very useful if you have two versions of your source code or files that you want to compare. Like in my case I have two versions of CSS or Cascading Style Sheet on my website with different layout. Sometimes I compare both files to determine what line I have modified.
ExamDiff is free to download. By default it is using notepad as the editing tool. Aside from this you can use UltraEdit so you will have more option in editing the source code. This of course includes code highlighting and a lot more. UltraEdit is not free and you can use any text editor if you like.
