Firefox Os Gets Upgraded To Version 1.1 – Mozilla To Introduce Smartphones Soon

Just around 6-7 months ago, Mozilla took everyone by surprise when they announced their own OS for mobile devices. At this time, the smartphone market is led by Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android OS. There are some other contenders in the market such as Windows OS and Blackberry but they don’t hold a light against the giant operating systems already working in the market. In such situation, when Mozilla announces to come up with its own Firefox OS for mobile devices, one simply gets shunned and starts thinking why would Mozilla want to make their own OS? Not only Mozilla introduced its own OS aka Firefox OS in the market but the news has it that Mozilla has issued an upgrade to its Firefox OS and now, the latest version available in the market is version 1.1. There are certain improvements that can be seen along with version 1.1. For example; the new OS supports MMS, there is a push notification API included in the OS. Along with that, Mozilla has also enhanced the App search and contact management system of its Firefox OS too. Mozilla has earlier announced to come up with a quarterly upgrade release of its Firefox OS and the version 1.1 is the first of this spree. However, if you are looking forward to buy a Firefox OS equipped smartphone; you will have to wait until July of 2014. The main aim of Mozilla is to increase the range of its HTML5 enabled devices in the market. One more thing that must be added here is that, the July 2014 release of first Firefox enabled smartphone is not confirmed yet. On the other hand, the carrier partners of Mozilla such as Telefonica and Deuthsche Telekom have already come up with plans to introduce the Firefox enabled smartphones.
