In this tutorial we will create a Transform Text Into Image By Dragging using JavaScript. This code will automatically change the text data into image when drop in the drop zone.The code itself use drag and drop feature to lessen your typing works, because you only just drag the object without typing it manually. A user-friendly program so that you can modify and understand it without an ease.

We will be using JavaScript as a server-side scripting language that interpret a program to extend a whole new level of HTML experience. A scripting language that use in different ways that provide a whole level of experience when visiting a website.

Getting started:

First you have to download bootstrap framework, this is the link for the bootstrap that I used for the layout design https://getbootstrap.com/.

The Main Interface

This code contains the interface of the application. To create this just write these block of code inside the text editor and save this as index.html.

  1. <!DOCTYPE html>
  2. <html lang="en">
  3. <head>
  4. <meta charset="UTF-8" name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1" />
  5. <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/bootstrap.css"/>
  6. </head>
  7. <nav class="navbar navbar-default">
  8. <div class="container-fluid">
  9. <a class="navbar-brand" href="<a href="https://sourcecodester.com">Sourcecodester</a>
  10. " rel="nofollow">https://sourcecodester.com">Sourcecodester</a>
  11. </a> </div>
  12. </nav>
  13. <div class="col-md-3"></div>
  14. <div class="col-md-6 well">
  15. <h3 class="text-primary">JavaScript - Transform Text Into Image By Dragging</h3>
  16. <hr style="border-top:1px dotted #ccc;"/>
  17. <br />
  18. <img height="200" class="col-md-5" ondrop="drop(event)" ondragover="dragOver(event)" />
  19. <div class="col-md-1"></div>
  20. <div class="col-md-4">
  21. <h3 id="dog.png" ondragstart="drag(event)" draggable="true">Dog</h3>
  22. <h3 id="cat.png" ondragstart="drag(event)" draggable="true">Cat</h3>
  23. <h3 id="bird.png" ondragstart="drag(event)" draggable="true">Bird</h3>
  24. </div>
  25. </div>
  26. <script src="js/script.js"></script>
  27. </body>
  28. </html>

Creating the Script

This code contains the script of the application. This code will transform the draggble text into image when drop the target zone. To do this just copy and write these block of codes inside the text editor, then save it as script.js inside the js folder.

  1. function dragOver(e){
  2. e.preventDefault();
  3. }
  4.
  5. function drop(e){
  6. e.preventDefault();
  7. var data = e.dataTransfer.getData("data");
  8. console.log(e.target);
  9. e.target.src = "images/"+data;
  10. e.target.style = "border:1px SOLID #ccc;";
  11. }
  12.
  13. function drag(e){
  14. e.dataTransfer.setData("data", e.target.id);
  15. }

There you have it we successfully created a Transform Text Into Image By Dragging using JavaScript. I hope that this simple tutorial help you to what you are looking for. For more updates and tutorials just kindly visit this site. Enjoy Coding!
