Integration of scanner with visual basic

One of my requirement is to integrate scanner with visual basic... the purpose of this is to acquire document then stored it into my database as image .... so they require me to do the transaction with my project.... the scanning will be done my system.... hope someone have already this kind of project.. thanks...
