  • Video Filter

    You may insert videos from popular video sites by using a simple tag [video:URL].

    Examples:

    • Single video:
      [video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN1qUeId]
    • Random video out of multiple:
      [video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN1qUeId1,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN1qUeId2]
    • Override default autoplay setting: [video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN1qUeId autoplay:1]
    • Override default width and height:
      [video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN1qUeId width:X height:Y]
    • Override default aspect ratio:
      [video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN1qUeId ratio:4/3]
    • Align the video:
      [video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN1qUeId align:right]

    Supported sites: Archive.org, Blip.tv, Capped, College Humor, DailyMotion, Flickr Slideshows, Flickr Video, Game Trailers, Game Videos, GodTube, Google Video, Meta Cafe, MySpace, Picasa Slideshows, Slideshare, Streamhoster, Teachertube, Vimeo, Wistia, YouTube, YouTube (Playlist).

    Special instructions:

    Some codecs need special input. You'll find those instructions here.
    • Picasa Slideshows:
      You must use the URL of the RSS feed for the Picasa album:
      1. View the album in Picasa (you should see thumbnails, not a slideshow).
      2. Find the "RSS" link and click it.
      3. Copy the resulting URL from the browser address bar. Example:
        [video: http://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/base/user/USER_NAME/albumid/5568104935784209834?alt=rss&kind=photo&hl=en_US]
    • Slideshare:
      You need to construct your own URL, using the "Wordpress Embed" code from Slideshare, extract the "id", and form the URL like this: slideshare.net/1759622
  • Syntax highlighting of source code can be enabled with the following tags:

    • Generic syntax highlighting tags: "<code>", "<blockcode>".
    • Language specific syntax highlighting tags: "<asp>" for ASP source code, "<c>" for C source code, "<cpp>" for C++ source code, "<csharp>" for C# source code, "<css>" for CSS source code, "<html4strict>" for HTML source code, "<java>" for Java source code, "<javascript>" for Javascript source code, "<mysql>" for MySQL source code, "<php>" for PHP source code, "<python>" for Python source code, "<sql>" for SQL source code, "<vb>" for Visual Basic source code, "<vbnet>" for vb.net source code.

    Options and tips:

    • The language for the generic syntax highlighting tags can be specified with one of the attribute(s): type, lang, language, class. The possible values are: "asp" (for ASP), "c" (for C), "cpp" (for C++), "csharp" (for C#), "css" (for CSS), "delphi" (for Delphi), "html4strict" (for HTML), "java" (for Java), "javascript" (for Javascript), "mysql" (for MySQL), "php" (for PHP), "python" (for Python), "sql" (for SQL), "vb" (for Visual Basic), "vbnet" (for vb.net).
    • The supported tag styles are: <foo>, [foo].
    • Line numbering can be enabled/disabled with the attribute "linenumbers". Possible values are: "off" for no line numbers, "normal" for normal line numbers and "fancy" for fancy line numbers (every nth line number highlighted). The start line number can be specified with the attribute "start", which implicitly enables normal line numbering. For fancy line numbering the interval for the highlighted line numbers can be specified with the attribute "fancy", which implicitly enables fancy line numbering.
    • If the source code between the tags contains a newline (e.g. immediatly after the opening tag), the highlighted source code will be displayed as a code block. Otherwise it will be displayed inline.
    • A title can be added to a code block with the attribute "title".

    Defaults:

    • Default highlighting mode for generic syntax highlighting tags: when no language attribute is specified, no syntax highlighting will be done.
    • Default line numbering: normal line numbers.

    Examples:

    You typeYou get
    <code>foo = "bar";</code>Inline code with the default syntax highlighting mode.
    <code>
    foo = "bar";
    baz = "foz";
    </code>
    Code block with the default syntax highlighting mode.
    <code lang="sql" linenumbers="normal">
    foo = "bar";
    baz = "foz";
    </code>
    Code block with syntax highlighting for SQL source code
    and normal line numbers.
    <code language="sql" start="23" fancy="7">
    foo = "bar";
    baz = "foz";
    </code>
    Code block with syntax highlighting for SQL source code,
    line numbers starting from 23
    and highlighted line numbers every 7th line.
    <asp>
    foo = "bar";
    baz = "foz";
    </asp>
    Code block with syntax highlighting for ASP source code.
    <asp start="23" fancy="7">
    foo = "bar";
    baz = "foz";
    <asp>
    Code block with syntax highlighting for ASP source code,
    line numbers starting from 23
    and highlighted line numbers every 7th line.
  • Lines and paragraphs are automatically recognized. The <br /> line break, <p> paragraph and </p> close paragraph tags are inserted automatically. If paragraphs are not recognized simply add a couple blank lines.
