The founder of open source software Ubuntu, Mark Shuttleworth declared that his dreams of topping the world's most popular software, Windows have already ended. He already gave up on his dream of ending Microsoft's dominance but credited iOS and Android of getting a chunk of the market share in mobile platforms.

The world's leading software company, Microsoft, released some information regarding the highly-anticipated Windows 8.1. The Start Button is not reinstated. For the past few days you may read some headlines that the well-known Start Button is back, then you are simply being misled. Microsoft announcement states that although you can see the Start Button being added to the desktop bar, but unlike Windows 7 Start Button this doesn't produce hierarchical folder structure containing executables.

Robert Kruger, a 17-year-old German student discovered some vulnerabilities in PayPal and contends that the company has denied him a reward for finding vulnerability in its website. According to a news report from PCWorld, Kruger notified PayPal of the vulnerability on May 19, but because he was still under the age of 18 he was not eligible for the program. The PayPal bug bounty program based upon their terms and conditions, does not appear to have an age guideline. Other companies such as Google and Facebook have similar rewards programs.

The official Android IDE was already released by the world's leading technology company, Google, during the Google I/O event. The release of the Android IDE is a welcome development especially for the programming community who are thinking of working with Android. Until recently it is very difficult for programmer who wanted to create an app. Before the release of Android IDE, you have to install the SDK, install Eclipse, and then install the addin for Android development.

Google announcement recently some of the most useful enhancement to their Apps Script. The information was relayed according to Saurabh Gupta's post in the official Google Apps Developer Blog. There are five areas of enhancement in the Google Apps Script. Gupta summarized the five areas of enhancement which were enumerated below. ***Scripts in Google Docs The App Script team has added custom menus, dialog, and triggers. The changes is Google's response for requests to be able to extend Google Docs in ways that are similar to Google Sheets. Another feature is the new custom sidebar.

The word's leading file hosting service company, Dropbox, announced that they will be having their first-ever developer conference to be held this coming July 9, 2013 at Fort Mason in San Francisco, California. According to Dropbox, adding another 100 million users means integrating with an ever-increasing number of devices and services. For that reason, it needs an army of willing developers. The company will try to extend its reach by holding it's first-ever DBX developer conference.

One of the most daring move by the original founders of MySQL, the open-source database program, is the merger between Monty Program and SkySQL. The newly-merged company will operate under the SkySQL name. The company will have the two main co-creators of the original MySQL, Monty Widenius, head of Monty Program AB, and David Axmark of SkySQL. They will pool both Monty Program and SkySQL's expertise in MariaDB support and development. According to SkySQL the move will enable it to devote more resources to making MariaDB more able to interoperate with both NoSQL and SQL database systems.
