I don’t know if somebody here has already tested sending an SMS from a website. I supposed to make a tutorial on this before but I really don’t have much time. I’m kinda busy right now with paid services.

When I have time to devote on this I will teach you on how to send an SMS using PHP/Knokii or PHP/Kanel. The problem is this will work only on Linux OS. Although you can use Windows using an emulator but I don’t want to recommend it because of its complexity.

How it works?

All you need is a Nokia phone that is supported by either Knokii or Kanel. Knokii or Kanel is the one responsible for connecting to your phone. All you have to do is create a PHP script that will send messages to Knokii/Kanel. Of course you can send messages directly to this software but using a console.

I had developed before an application on windows using PHP and an SMS gateway named NOW SMS. Once I have the time I might post a tutorial about it.

Kanel is nice on Linux., have tried it before. But it really requires familiarity with linux.

Looking forward for your tutorial on this matter.

You can use SMS gateway like clickatell, just sign up and they will give you API that you can use in sending SMS using your website.

they also provide sample codes in PHP, ASP.net, java etc..
