RFID Lap Scoring HELP

Hi everyone

I would just like to ask if anybody knows ANYTHING about RFID, Only i would like to get some help with writing a Lap Scoring programe for my Moto Duro Club, I have managed to get a 2.45Ghz Microwave RFID reader & some tags & would love to get a Lap Scoring programe done, I am a complete NEWBIE to programing & could do with some EXPERT HELP from some of you guys if possible.
I am a member of a amature Moto Duro Club & have been riding them for the last 4 years & would love to progress to the Adult group in a couple of years.
I can do most of the electronics side of this project with some help from my Dad it just the software & really would appriciate some/any help.
